This series was captured between 0745 - 0945. I visited the nest specifically to see how the young are since last weeks's visit (6th) did not produce a full viewing of the heads. What a change in 7 days! I only saw this one and saw it flapping its wings several times. The temp was 33, windchill 25, so shot out the side window of the truck with heater being well exercised. There were several small branches and the one bird (Coot?) delivered during my two-hour visit. COLD, but well worth the effort!!
